I use the past tense because I no longer think that to be true, although I do not condemn you or anyone else’s viewpoints; I’ll leave that type of behavior for our beloved administration.

You mention the idea of being finger puppets if we have no room to make our own choices in life without God intervening. But my argument to that would be the idea of a heaven — a place where sin does not exist. Now if no sin exists there then there is no room for you to decide to sin, you simply could not do it. No free will in heaven, the very place many sacrifice everything for the chance to live there. In essence, we WANT no free will, and God wants to give it to us, so long as we somehow manage to muddle our way through free will now and don’t screw ourselves. You can see where I’m going with this.

So I no longer think the idea of heaven is something that we’ve examined closely enough, because if we did, we wouldn’t be giving the concept of free will the adoration we give it today. Just my opinion.

Comment on God or Devil? A new category of discussion. by Nicodemus https://themembersdigest.com/2016/06/12/god-or-devil-a-new-category-of-discussion/comment-page-1/#comment-7 Mon, 13 Jun 2016 13:11:06 +0000 http://themembersdigest.com/?p=274#comment-7 During the decades that I’ve been Iglesia, I have never believed that God participates in our everyday life. I believe that he listens to our prayers and that, on occasion, he answers our prayers (sometimes not in the way we’d expect), but our lives are our own. It is our choices that define our character, and it will be (in essence) our character that will be judged in the end. He knows what we do – He knows why we do it – and he gives us the freedom to make those choices.
Otherwise, we’d all simply be finger-puppets. I don’t believe we are.

Comment on FORCE & MIND by Nicodemus https://themembersdigest.com/2016/05/24/force-mind/comment-page-1/#comment-6 Tue, 24 May 2016 22:15:00 +0000 http://themembersdigest.com/?p=175#comment-6 I also like the saying “A coward meets reason with force.” This is something my mother used to say. She had little respect for anyone who chose to enforce their opinion/views with their muscles instead of their brains. She didn’t want me and my siblings to be that type of human.

Comment on Philippine Arena Evangelical Mission by Higher Archy https://themembersdigest.com/2016/05/20/philippine-arena-evangelical-mission/comment-page-1/#comment-4 Tue, 24 May 2016 18:43:47 +0000 http://themembersdigest.com/?p=43#comment-4 Aside from the administration trying to tell people the arena is for religion (wink wink) I think they are also trying to showcase EVM as some sort of “effective” leader (I use that word liberally.)

First, this smells as fishy as when they established a “locale” in Scenic, SD. In other words, nobody is falling for it. The arena is for entertainment, hence the entertainment right after the service. And while there isn’t anything technically wrong with entertainment, maybe we could’ve tried to not borrow billions upon billions from various banks, with the church’s properties used as collateral, and the offerings used to pay off the loans. All while not being forthright with the members about loans.

Yeah, maybe we should’ve went a different way.

Whatever (expelling his mother and siblings) gave (kidnapping and harassing their own ministers) you (Utterly meaningless Guiness records) that (staging a rally at EDSA for a false cause because they were scared of kidnapping charges) idea? (Using offerings to pay off
loans that we all know exist but they continue to deny with deafening silence)

I think good people can see what bad people do, even if these bad people are wrapped in a choir robe or a scan shirt or a minister’s suit. Why hasn’t the administration learned that yet? Their lies are as big as the Philippine Arena.

I remember a minister telling me once that a white lie is okay every now and then to save the soul of others. (like, what?! haha) To force a minister to hate an ex-minister/member is completely wrong and manipulative. That same minister told me that any press – including bad press – is good press. It’s as if the administration is cool with the deceptive things they do, so long as it gets people’s attention.

These are good natured Ministers with a resume full of their past good deeds. None of that can be questioned by this administration no matter how hard they try, and boy are they trying hard. When lying becomes second nature, then as a Minister of the INC, never mind a good person, should really ask themselves what they’ve become. You are not a good example. You are not worth emulating. You are embarrassing to the membership that you are supposed to be guiding. And you are a direct reflection of the despicable administration that require you act like a terrible person. As a minister, you really should know better.
